FAQ
Here are some Frequently Asked Questions that we often get about assisted living.
Common Questions
Explore common questions about Avista Home and Avista Living in Northwest Houston, including care fit, costs and preparing for a visit.
What is the difference between Avista Home and Avista Living?
Avista Home and Avista Living are two separate residential assisted-living homes in Northwest Houston. Avista Home is the Echo location; Avista Living is the Ferndale location. When comparing them, discuss the specific home, its current room options and whether it can support your family member’s needs. Do not assume that an arrangement discussed for one home applies to the other.
Does Avista offer memory care?
No. Avista does not offer memory care. If your family member has memory-related needs, discuss the appropriate care setting with their healthcare professional and ask any provider you are considering about its services and limits. Assisted living should not be assumed to be a substitute for memory care.
How do I know whether Avista may be right for my family member?
Start with the support your family member needs during the day and overnight, along with their preferences and routines. Discuss those needs with Avista before deciding whether either home may be appropriate. A tour or an available room does not establish care fit or guarantee admission.

How can I find out the current cost and what is included?
Request current pricing for the specific home and room arrangement you are considering. Ask what the monthly price includes, which charges may be separate, and what payment terms apply. Review those details before making a decision; a directory estimate or an older quote may not describe the arrangement available to your family now.

How do I check current room availability?
Ask about availability at Avista Home or Avista Living by name and mention your general timing. Photographs and descriptions show the setting but do not confirm that a particular room is available. Discuss room availability and care fit separately before making plans.
How do I arrange a tour of the correct home?
Specify whether you would like to visit Avista Home at the Echo location or Avista Living at the Ferndale location. Confirm the home name, street address, date, time and time zone with the team before traveling. Bring your questions about daily life, costs and care fit so you can follow up during the visit.
What should I include in my first inquiry?
Mention which home you are considering, your general timing, and whether your main question is about care fit, pricing, availability or a tour. Keep your first message general. Do not send private medical records through an ordinary website form; ask how sensitive information should be shared if it is needed.
